Overview
6-inch seamless gutters handle 50% more water volume than standard 5-inch gutters, making them ideal for large roof areas, steep roofs, and Baldwin County homes in high-rainfall zones. For homes near the coast or in areas receiving intense tropical downpours, 6-inch gutters provide the extra capacity needed to prevent overflow and protect your foundation.
Benefits
- Handles 50% more water than 5" gutters
- Ideal for large roof areas and steep pitches
- Prevents overflow during heavy downpours
- Reduces need for additional downspouts
- Available in aluminum and copper
- Recommended for Baldwin County coastal homes
Installation
6-inch seamless gutters are formed on-site using our mobile machine. They require 3x4 or 4x5 oversized downspouts to handle the increased water volume. Hidden hangers are spaced every 24 inches. Installation takes 1 day for most homes.
Maintenance
Semi-annual inspection recommended. With gutter guards, annual maintenance is sufficient. The larger size actually reduces clogging frequency as debris is flushed more easily.
Expected Lifespan
20–30 years for aluminum. 100+ years for copper. Finish warranty 25 years on aluminum.
Ideal Applications
Large homes, steep roofs, homes in high-rainfall areas, coastal properties, and commercial buildings requiring high-capacity water management.
Cost Factors
- Linear feet required
- Material (aluminum or copper)
- Downspout sizing and quantity
- Gutter guard integration
- Roof height and complexity
- Color selection
Comparison
6" gutters cost about 20% more than 5" gutters but handle 50% more water. For homes with roof areas over 2,000 square feet or in areas receiving 60+ inches of rain, the upgrade is strongly recommended. For smaller homes with standard rooflines, 5" gutters are usually sufficient.
